Dambulla Cave Temple

Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple to experience the roots of Buddism in a natural environment

Situated in the central part of Sri Lanka  and also called the Golden Temple, this is the biggest preserved cave temple in the country. This historical complex of caves has been included on the world heritage list since 1991. Dalada Maligawa

DaladaMaligawa, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth is most famous for holding Lord Buddha’s tooth relic. Located in the heart of Kandy, it is considered the most sacred temple in Sri Lanka. There is an annual parade where you can see colourfully dressed elephants walking proudly in the parade. Kandy is situated in the centre of Sri Lanka and is surrounded by mountains. Due to the surrounding mountains, the temperature in Kandy is cooler than Colombo.

Every night at the DaladaMaligawa, a pooja is carried out accompanied by a traditional Kandian dance and playing of traditional drums. Visit this unique temple where a sacred artifact of Buddhism is kept.
